Sunburn weather here..... ...that cake looks amazing! When weather is bad, I contemplate what next for baking or cooking! With the hot weather here, we just BBQed some costco polish weiners and had them on a whole wheat bun with the trimmings and a coleslaw on the side! I made monster cookies for the grandkids the other day! [image]

Yes it can be too wet, I am dealing with my fields being to wet to work in. According to the experts, every day after May, 24th my crop yield will shrink by 8/10 ths of a bushel per acre. Putting the pencil to paper on that means it is costing me about 1700 dollars a day that it is too wet to work. Ha ha the great thing about farming is, maybe next year things will be perfect. Anything worth doing is worth doing right

Today's pool opening is washed (and chilled) out. And to top it off, the gym is closed today and was closed YESTERDAY too! I don't recall it ever being closed for two days in a row and wonder if they're having trouble getting workers too. Yesterday I spent a lot of time working on the (non-naughty) pictures I took on Friday and watching the two races. NO IDEA what I'll do today! Happy Memorial Day my friend that recipe looks quite delicious. Got to love fresh fruit. We cooked our first big meal yesterday ( blogged about it ). Its hotter than hell here don't even want to open the front door. And the temperatures keep rising today it's going to be one hundred and three here. I would love to trade weather with you as I so miss the storms and rain. I hope you enjoy some fun today, and stay safe.. We've had glorious sunshine over the weekend and even on today's Bank Holiday Monday. This is great for our economy with all the tourists visiting.

You are so right the weekend was the wettest and coldest. Monday did turn out good. I and some friends stayed at the Veterans Cemetery providing escorts to the grave sites for those with mobility issues. That cake looks delicious!

dessert looks delicious! I planted strawberries last year and just had the first picking, used to make a delicious strawberry shortcake!

Our long weekend was the weekend before, but I worked the Monday, as I always do. I will get another vacation day to use later when I want. Only thing I really did that weekend was watch Nascar's Coca Cola 600.
